Q4 2023 Snapshot: Top Sandbox Games on Android in Europe

As the year wrapped up, the sandbox game genre continued to captivate players across Europe on the Android platform. Sensor Tower provides a glimpse into the performance of the top five sandbox games during Q4 of 2023.

Roblox, the widely popular game by Roblox Corporation, showed a notable increase in weekly active users, peaking at 42M in the final week of December. Downloads also surged to 889K during the Christmas week. Revenue trends were impressive, with a substantial rise to $2.8M in the last week of the quarter.

Minecraft from Mojang maintained a steady stream of revenue, closing the quarter with $293K. Downloads saw a remarkable jump in the holiday season, reaching 78K in the last week of December. The weekly active users experienced a gradual increase, ending the year with 1.9M active users.

Lockwood Publishing Ltd's Avakin Life - 3D Virtual World also witnessed growth, with revenue hitting $61K in the last week of December. The game's downloads peaked at 34K in late October, and the weekly active users saw a slight increase to 202K by the year's end.

ELECTRONIC ARTS’ The Sims™ FreePlay showed an upward trend in revenue, concluding the quarter at $55K. The game's downloads had a significant rise to 96K in the second week of December, and the active user base saw a modest increase to 274K.

Lastly, IMVU, Inc.'s IMVU: Social Chat & Avatar app maintained a steady revenue, ending at $26K in the last week. Downloads rose to 13K in early October, and the weekly active users count ended the quarter at nearly 69K.
